Wordless Wednesday

She does enjoy company!
Although, lately she's been sitting nicely for a much shorter period of time and greatly enjoys eating on the run. I think that's normal, but I wonder if it's healthy to let her do that -- I'd much rather her sit in her high chair until everyone's finished eating! Any suggestions?!?

  1. I have four kids, and although I don't think it makes me an expert, I can give you a glimpse into my life. I let my kids eat on the run. Now the youngest is 7. We all eat around the dinner table every single night of the week, and nobody is eating on the run. :) Hope this helps, even a little. I sort of had a saying when my kids were little: "whatever keeps me sane." If having them running around with a piece of bread in hand kept me sane, then I was like, "Would you like peanut butter on that?"

  4. How cute! My daughter likes to have her "friends" eat with her too. :-)

I don't necessarily think there is anything wrong with eating on the run, especially since most toddlers don't eat all that much anyway. It just depends on what kind of pattern you want to establish for your family. At our house, we all sit down to eat together. If my daughter finishes (which is after like 3 bites of food) she doesn't have to eat anymore, but we ask her to sit with us until we are done. Once we get up, we usually leave her food there to nibble on if she would like to, just to give her the opportunity to eat a little more. So basically we allow eating on the run, but we are trying to instill the concept of a family dinner first.

Thanks for linking up with me for WW yesterday. I am sorry it took me so long to get over here...this week just hasn't gone as planned for me.

    Have a great day!
