39DollarGlasses.com Review and Giveaway

I was contacted about reviewing 39dollarglasses.com, and I was so pleasantly surprised with the quality of their products! Trying to cut the extra costs applied to retail optometrists, 39dollarglasses.com allows you to purchase the same quality prescription glasses or sunglasses.

For the review, I ordered the Katie frame as sunglasses, which also came with a hard-shell case, lens cleaning cloth, and frame screwdriver tool.
This is the first pair of glasses or sunglasses I've ordered online, and I'm extremely satisfied with the process and with the end product. 39dollarglasses.com offers a variety of frames for all members of the family, with a printable PDF of the actual size of the frame so you could see how it would fit your face. After I chose my frame, I chose whether I wanted single vision lenses, bi-focal lenses, reading lenses, or progressive lenses; next, I inputted my prescription and and PD -- I had to use their online help to figure it out, which was basically the spacing between pupils!

The sunglasses I received are perfect for my face. I do not have much of a nasal bridge, and these frames sit wonderfully on my face, unlike most of the sunglasses I've bought at retail stores. These are one of the best pairs of glasses I've had, up there with the other pair of sunglasses that were purchased at an optical store about 15 years ago!

Use code DTMIM for 10% off your order.

Kiki's Fashions Review and Giveaway!

Build a Dream Playhouses™ Review and Giveaway

Build a Dream Playhouses™ is an amazing new company! Innovatively founded by a Cleveland dad and two college entrepreneurs, Build a Dream Playhouses™ offers creative play from well designed playhouses!

Made of corrugated cardboard, the Build a Dream Playhouses™ comply to the standards of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA). They are also manufactured from 80% recycled materials and obviously is 100% recyclable!

When I pulled all the components out of the box to build our Imagine Wagon, I was first concerned that I wouldn't be able to do it! With my toddler immediately saying, "Color" -- she knew what to do with it -- I managed to find the assembly instructions and set out to build the Wagon around her.
And after roughly 30 minutes, with some "help," I folded and tucked most of the tabs into the correct slots.

And we love the finished product...

Which can comfortably fit one large adult and a toddler!

One thing that most impresses me about Build a Dream Playhouses™ is that they care about their community and the city of Cleveland. They donate many playhouses to children’s hospitals, charities, and schools. This spoke out to me the most because being an Ohioan, you notice much of the negative effects of the economic downturn, and Build a Dream Playhouses™ is now setting a higher standard and making a difference in the MidWest!

Tropical Traditions Coconut Peanut Butter Review and Giveaway!

I'm sure you've heard by now about this amazing company called Tropical Traditions! Every product I've tried, I've really liked, even though some of my expectations were different than the actual product.

When I received my Organic Coconut Peanut Butter, I ripped into the package, grabbed a knife, and proceeded to make myself some peanut butter toast -- some times I just have cravings for it! The consistency of the Coconut Peanut Butter is not as smooth as other brands, but I had no trouble spreading it on toast; I'd compare the consistency similar to our Smart Balance butter spread. And the coconut and peanut butter taste as pretty much equal. I thought it might be sweeter, but looking at the ingredients, it's Organic Dried Coconut and Organic Roasted Valencia Peanuts! Comparing the Nutrition Facts to the peanut butter we already had in the cupboard, Tropical Traditions Organic Coconut Peanut Butter has 75% less calories! I'm so pumped to try this in our homemade protein bars because I know that it's only the good stuff! I'll also recommend this to a family member, who's normally a peanut butter fiend but has difficulties finding a diabetic friendly solution.

BUY IT!!
You can purchase a 16 oz. glass jar of organic Coconut Peanut Butter for $14.99. (Tropical Traditions often runs specials, which they advertise through their sales email; right now you can get it for $9.99.) Right now, you'll also be able to receive a FREE copy of the book Virgin Coconut Oil, from the Referral program! Choose “Referred by a Friend” and enter User ID: 6608836 on their first online order, and the book will be automatically added to your order. If you need assistance, contact Customer Service.

Dayspring Grace Tiles - Review and Giveaway!

I've seen Dayspring products in almost every Christian bookstore, but only recently have I found them online. It's much easier for me to access their products from my home, and not worry that little toddler hands will touch, yank, or break anything that I wasn't intending on buying!

Several months ago, I think, I filled out a form to review a Dayspring product from (in)courage, but when I finished it, I was unclear as to whether I'd be chosen and what product would come. A few days ago, two boxes arrived, and I was so excited to receive the Grace Tiles and Rod Set! That has a very special meaning for our family -- we're reminded on a daily basis that we need to show grace to each other as we've all received grace freely.

I love the simple and classy look it brings to our home. And it's not overwhelmingly heavy to hang either.

Even though we've been in our house for over a year, we still have blank walls! I know you can put putty in to fill holes in drywall, but I'm still so fearful of putting hanging things up and realizing that lack of design skills would leave me with more holes than needed! But we're doing it...and I'd like to thank the Grace Tiles for motivating me!

Win It!
You can also win a $20 gift code to use at the Dayspring.com (shipping charges still apply). To enter, visit Dayspring and let me know what you like; just make sure you leave a comment with your email address. This is required and must be done before extra entries count!

Big G Whole Grain Weight Management Review and Giveaway!

I strive to bring the best nutrition for my family, and General Mills Big G cereals want to make that easier for all families. Reported in their press information,

Ninety-five percent of Americans do not get enough whole grain, according to the Report of the 2010 Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee. In fact, the average person gets a little more than half a serving of whole grain each day.

Every Big G cereal contains at least 8 grams of whole grain per serving, with more than 20 Big G cereals delivering 16 grams or more. (At least 48 grams of whole grain are recommended daily.) A diet high in whole grain has been found to help with diabetes and weight management, and may help reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.

General Mills wants to encourage better nutrition and weight management and is offering a prize pack, including a VIP coupon for one Big G cereal and a copy of The Lean Belly Prescription by Dr. Travis Stork, a host of the TV program The Doctors! For example, in his "Laws of Leanness," he writes:
  • If you love to graze: Nosh all day long on your favorite fruits and vegetables to help keep your belly full

  • If you love fatty foods: discover which fats can actually strip away pounds

  • If you love soda: substitute more delicious drinks that can help you lose up to four pounds in four weeks.

You can also preview a few pages of The Lean Belly Prescription: The fast and foolproof diet and weight-loss plan from America's top urgent-care doctor here.

eMommie.com Review and Giveaway!

One of my mantras is "Never pay full price!" But it was extremely difficult to live up to that one while pregnant. In order to fit my budget, I borrowed a lot of clothes from a friend, while shopping at the Goodwill and the sales at Motherhood Maternity, but often times came up empty handed. I found very few consignment stores that carried maternity clothing, at least ones worth owning. With the popularity of web stores, I'm excited to share about eMommie.com, which sells discount, new, and barely worn maternity clothing.

Emommie.com is the leading website for inexpensive maternity clothing
, both new and consigned. With humble beginnings as a one-woman, mommy herself, work at home company, eMommie.com quickly grew to its 5-person team. As well as offering growing mamas great deals, it also will pay cash for lightly worn maternity clothing and accessories! One thing I that stands out to me is their excellent customer service; they truly go above and beyond to personably meet your needs.

They have a variety of styles for all sizes XS, S, M, L, and XL, and their website is SO easy to navigate to find your right fit! There's plenty to peruse though, and if you're sized Medium or Large, it will be easy for you to find something you like. They also carry a smaller selection of Nursing styles. There's also a Clearance section with even greater discounts.

I picked out a 3/4 sleeve new, Old Navy top, a clearance t-shirt, and clearance pair of exercise shorts -- when I was pregnant before, I had the hardest time finding shorts I liked -- for a total of $25.17! Shipping within the US was $7 (shipped by Priority Mail), so I'd advise loading up the cart before checkout; everything was efficient as I ordered Monday and received it Thursday! I also took advantage of the extra 25% off clearance items. It was disclosed on the website that the clearance, pink t-shirt had a spot on it, but it would have been nicer for the consumer to know where it was, ie. by the left ribs.

If you're expecting or know of someone who is, be sure to "like" Emommie.com on Facebook or follow @emommiedotcom on Twitter for special offers and discounts, and to hear when new inventory items arrive!

eMommie.com is gracious enough to offer a $25 GC for a lucky reader! This is open to U.S.
To enter, browse through eMommie.com and telling me what catches your eye! This is required and must be done before the extra entries count! PLEASE leave your name and email address with your entry.

Boiron Cold & Flu Care Pack Review and Giveaway

In our household, we value the aid of homeopathic remedies and have experienced great success with many companies. One we have yet to try is Boiron.

Boiron, world leader in homeopathic medicines, is a $730 million public company with 4,000 employees and distribution in more than 80 countries. It is best known for its top-selling flu medicine, Oscillococcinum®, and its Arnicare® line of pain relievers. For nearly 80 years, Boiron has been committed to funding scientific research and educating the public and healthcare professionals on homeopathic medicines. As a pharmaceutical company, Boiron maintains the highest standards in manufacturing, complying with U.S. Food and Drug Administration regulations, the Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States and drug Good Manufacturing Practices.

Coldcalm is used to temporarily relieve cold symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, congestion, and sore throat. For those 3 and up, dissolve 2 tablets in your mouth every 15 minutes for 2 hours; then take 1 dose every hour until symptoms are relieved. There are also no side effects.

Boiron recommends taking Oscillococcinum at the first signs of any flu-like symptoms, to reduce the duration and severity of those symptoms. For anyone over 2 years of age, dissolve the entire contents (pellets) of one tube in your mouth, and the sweet-tasting pellets will melt away. There should be no side-effects or interactions with other drugs. You can get more information at www.oscillo.com

Chestal brand cough syrup combines homeopathic medicines with the natural goodness of honey, for everyone 2 and up. Ever since my daughter turned one, if I knew her throat was scratchy, I'd give her a little bit of organic honey to soothe her throat. The honey provides some relief from sinus irritation with the added benefit of natural sweetness! Chestal is a multi-purpose formula which relieves unproductive (dry or spasmodic) cough, which may prevent restful sleep, and productive (wet) cough.

When I first applied and was approved for Boiron's campaign, two-thirds of our household needed Oscillococcinum, Coldcalm, or Chestal, but when I received the products, we had recovered! For those of you in the 44 states reporting widespread or local flu activity, according to the CDC, consider Oscillococcinum, Coldcalm, or Chestal to soothe your symptoms!

BUY IT!
You can purchase Boiron's products on its website or on Amazon.com (You can also use the subscribe and save option to get another 15% off)!
The prices range from $12-$20 depending on the products.

WIN IT!

Household Traditions' Powdered Dishwasher Detergent Review and Giveaway!

We've been scaling down on our household cleaners, trying to make sure we're cleaning with more healthy options. Dishwasher detergent is something I've been trying to find an effective solution for, and I've found that Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent works wonderfully for us!

Household Traditions Powdered Dishwasher Detergent does not include chlorine, phosphates, fillers, or fragrances, yet packs a clean POW -- no spots, crusty food, or stains on our dishes or glasses! It actually seems to work better than the commercial product I was previously using -- dishes always came out clean, and detergent did not clump. Simply use one scoop (2 oz.) and expect clean dishes! My dishwasher's detergent container held a little less than one scoop, but a half a scoop would not properly clean for us. This non-toxic dishwasher detergent is also safe for septic tanks!

Household Traditions and Tropical Traditions hit another home run! I'm so impressed with the quality of all their products, and I know you'll be pleased too!

Super Skivvies Review and Giveaway

As we're nearing the time to begin potty training, I've been thinking about how to better prepare ourselves. I've been drawn to cloth diapers because they do allow the child to feel wet. Little did I know there are also cloth trainers. I received this trainer from Super Skivvies to review.
The craftsmanship is impeccable. It's extremely soft, and the elastic waistband has lots of "give." From the website, "Super Skivvies feature one layer of soft cotton knit, an organic bamboo rayon velour liner in the crotch area, cotton interlock waist and thigh bands, and no-roll elastic encased in the waist. Included is a removable insert consisting of three layers organic bamboo rayon fleece." Super Skivvies comes in three sizes: Extra Small (1T-2T), Small (2T-3T), Medium (3T-4T).

Inside, it's pretty much like lined underwear or a super-thin pocket "diaper", with enough padding for ONE accident, and is not waterproof -- my little one is not ready yet; as soon as I put the Super Skivvy on, she pee-ed! So this is great for ones who are a slightly older to understand the concept of underwear. If padding is unnecessary, you can remove it, essentially just having underwear.
I had no issues with washing -- it was just a soft and color-safe. Super Skivvies gets a 10 out of 10 -- and I know you'll love it too!

BUY IT!!
You can purchase a Super Skivvy for $18.

Knickernappies Review and Giveaway!

The Knickernappies One Size Side Snap Pocket Diaper is wonderful! It stuffed like a normal pocket diaper; there is elastic in the outside cover as well as the lining in the "pocket." I made it a "medium size" and had no problems with leaks. I can see how it could be more bulky for newborns -- I'd have to give you an update on this later; since my daughter is on the older and leaner side, we had no problems fitting into her regular sized pants.

Knickernappies One-Size Pocket Diapers have some great features:
  • Four size adjustments to fit your baby best -- Small, Medium Short, Medium, and Large
  • Tested to fit babies from about 8 lbs to 40 lbs
  • Two microfiber inserts with every diaper, sizes small and large, and the inserts are Made in the USA!
  • A scooped tummy panel and topstitching for best fit under chubby baby bellies
  • Elastic on both sides of the pocket opening to hold the insert in place
  • Very gentle Lastin elastic in the leg and waist - no red marks!
  • Lastin elastic is long lasting and can't "go out" like regular elastic
  • Two Year Guarantee on elastic and snaps.
our perfect fit!

And I totally agree with Knickernappies -- what they've promoted proved true for us. And I've heard that when we start potty training, this diaper can also function as trainers, with the child being able to pull it down and up again. My favorite things about Knickernappies are the super soft lining, gentle elastic, fun colors, and one-size fit. Some have found the side snaps awkward, but it didn't bother me at all. I give it a 10!

This review and giveaway is provided by The Stork Wearhouse, a WAHM-owned and run store based in Prairie City, Iowa. It specializes in modern cloth diapers, baby carriers, and other natural parenting products. You will find a great selection and pricing, as there are Facebook specials every Friday -- I just got 15% off my order this past Friday!

She also has great information on her website. There's Cloth Diaper 101 for novices and those interested in knowing more about cloth diapers -- she also has her own chart for how much money is saved using cloth, a lot more accurate than my estimation!

There is also a new rewards program for, obviously, your purchases. But you can also earn point by posting reviews on their website, "liking" on Facebook, and recommending friends. You can read more about MyRewards here.

But It!
You can purchase a Knickernappies One-Size Side Snap Pocket Diaper from The Stork Wearhouse for $19.95
