what great new neighbors! we have a scrub jay in our yard. I think it is the same one each year. he keeps trying to build a nest above the door and keeps trying to raise a family. Either his is fertile or he can't a girl to raise a family in this neighborhood (the cat and boys in and out through that backdoor). The female ends up leaving a nest of unhatched eggs.
So sweet! We saw a broken egg on the ground this weekend (sad!) and I wondered how yours were coming :)
